It’s the The El Dude Brothers in full swing!

The self-deprecating humor that Peep Show is known for moves into the forefront throughout this season, ramping up to full insanity in the season finale wedding episode — which by the end of the series became a 4th wall meme: The wedding episodes throughout the series contain some of the most destructive clashes of id, ego and superego ever seen in fiction and are full of hilarity.

Mark Corrigan (played by David Mitchell) and Jeremy ‘Jez’ Usbourne (played by Robert Webb) get into some very odd, very Larry David-esque situations throughout these six episodes, including: lying to a university student in order to fuck her, going through a green card marriage to fuck her while not knowing what a green card marriage is, feigning being gay to talk to the woman you love, accidentally befriending a Nazi while you have a black supervisor.

This kind of witty humor laced with naivety (Mark not understanding how to relate to women and Jeremy not understanding how to be an adult), and a sharp 25 min runtime makes this easily one of the better situational sitcoms to sit through. Although the same technical issues remain from Season 1, but with less dated cultural references.

Re-screened September 4–5, 2023 on Tubi.
