When Steven Seagal’s supporting cast outshines his laziness in a movie, it turns out to be quite watchable.
Basic plot: Seagal is — surprise, a retired special forces operative. He kills a man trying to carjack his wife goes to prison. Six years later, gets released, and stumbles onto some Triad members in Washington state killing a police officer and innocent bystander. Segal intervenes, kills more people and becomes the good guy again instead of minding his own damn business. From here same plot advancement as in most of his movies, just without strippers.
The one thing in my mind making this a weaker movie compared to End of a Gun is the lack of stylistic editing or director’s flair. It looks like a … made for TV movie. Also, the plot points from the first act that were just glossed over and ignored instead of getting resolved.
First screened October 10, 2023 on Amazon Prime.
