This is a happy-go-lucky show following a genius attorney that has autism. However the actress playing the title character portrays autism as some sort of amalgam of mental illnesses. This results in a situation I call going “full retard”. (The term is not politically correct but accurate if you view the reference.)
I had significant reservations on viewing the series due to the initial trailer, but gladly did not regret it and I’d compare the general tone to Doc Martin.
Plot: Woo Young-Woo is abandoned by her mother, raised by a single father, didn’t communicate until age 5 and has identic memory which allowed her to graduate top of her class. Due to autism, she wasn’t able to get a job without nepotism. Eventually her new firm and colleagues appreciate her perspectives on cases.
Additionally… the title character is romantically linked to the most attractive mate and we get to see them fumble with fish out of water situations or cringe humor to highlight the barriers between each of them.
First screened last 2 weeks of September 2024 on Netflix.
