Similar to The Office/UK, this was a precursor to an American sitcom version (Veep). Like in The Office/UK, the story exists as a pseudo-behind-the-scenes look into the everyday occurrences of our cast, in this case an elected official and spin doctor (Peter Capaldi) reporting to the Prime Minister. This was a breakout role for Capaldi and he even portrayed the same character in the spinoff movie In the Loop.
Continuing the review, this series excels with a simple three episode format, and no major character introductions, just throwing the viewer straight in to the fire. The cast bounces off of each other very organically. No real oddities during viewing either, just sharp witted British humor.
