Near perfect film that spawned the Terminator franchise.
1 part Back to the Future, 1 part The Predator, all gas no breaks. Kyle Reese travels 40 years into the past to impregnate Sarah Connor and protect her from The T-800 Terminator. His involvement sets into motion a self-fulfilling prophecy.
This is one of the best examples across-the-board of explaining a plot with visuals and sounds instead of words. How do we know how dangerous the Terminator is? Cause he’s a literal killing machine. How do we know Kyle’s backstory is legitimate? Through flashbacks of the machine war.
The only flaw relates to the special effects. Makeup and animatronics appear to be specifically lower budget compared to the perfect movies I’ve previously reviewed (Predator, Alien, Aliens) and appear super dated as a result.
