This is a bad sequel.
The opening scene of the movie was a recap of Police Story 1. I guess Jackie knew he couldn’t match the spectacle from the first one even with a similar budget. Couple of reused sets from the first movie (the police station, the mall), May (Maggie Cheung) looks COMPLETELY different because of the 3 year delay in filming the movie, and without a clear villain Ka Kui (Jackie Chan) has nothing to do for the vast majority of the movie besides rescuing the damsel in distress.
This was a boring Jackie Chan movie, didn’t think that was possible. Next in the series is Police Story 3 aka Supercop.
