Milla Jovovich movies directed by Paul W. S. Anderson are exactly the same movie since Resident Evil 2. Introduce her team, kill them off, and show how badass or self-sufficient her character is — until she requires the help of token male with a… thing, to kill… the monster.
This movie takes it a step further, introducing her token male’s team and killing them off as well. Tony Jaa doesn’t have any fucking lines in the movie. He says 50 incomprehensible words that aren't subtitled or Thai, and yet is the co-star. Total waste. RON PEARLMAN IS IN THE MOVIE FOR 20 MIN AND HAS MORE LINES THAN TONY JAA.
Of course, this movie ends to be continued in Monster Hunter: Afterlife, Retribution, Apocalypse and Extinction before the Final Chapter.
P.S. Milla Jovovich could have been the MCU Black Widow, but is clearly held back by her husband/manager.
