Follow two African dreamers attempting to travel to Europe for work coincidentally interact with each other while also dealing with significant trauma in their lives.
This was a very surprising story that reminds me of Babel. Set in Lagos, Nigeria, a local engineer goes into despair after losing his family while a local bargirl tends to her sister’s teenage pregnancy. There’s a lot to go into and I don’t want to provide spoilers… but my biggest surprise is how the story provides insight into living like a local.
I was heavily conflicted getting to a final grade but settled on the following: “A” writing and direction, “C” technical aspects, “B” acting and cast overall sums to a “B” rating.
