Pretty lackluster movie and animation, a 100 minute episode of Justice League disguised as a movie. Similar to how fans of Star Trek felt after watching Insurrection. Saving grace was Kevin Conroy as Batman once again.

First screening September 29, 2022 on HBO Max.

The annual entry for the documentary surrounding the winners of The International.

There was a lack of interviews, enhanced by machinima animations in pivotal team fights during the tournament. In addition, due to COVID there was no crowd available in Bucharest, Romania, and that lowered the hype level a bit. Especially compared to True Sight: The International 2018 Finals which I attended in person.

Always interesting seeing the draft analysis between games, coaches, captains and analysts. Tons of psychological pressure shown throughout this video (sleeping? wash your face, Io priority vs Magnus, Ame’s lack of confidence vs Torontotokyo’s overconfidence) is indicative of why there are now esport psychologists serving on the top level teams.

Looking forward next year to True Sight: The International 2022, which I will be attending in Singapore!!!

First screening September 24, 2022 on YouTube.

Good Korean espionage movie.

Possibly inspired by the Jason Bourne series of movies as the plot seems to track. Main assassin defects, has a series of other assassins try to take him down while trying to get his life back together. Some CQC fight scenes, some car chases.

Not much to complain about outside of the runtime.

Re-screened September 18, 2022 on Amazon Prime.

Boring movie showcased on Best of the Worst.

Almost a prototype Cabin in the Woods scenario, this 1971 horror movie was filmed in a desert. There’s an abandoned shack where local legends created a boogeyman that may be real. Under 60 minutes, there’s 3 acts and under 10 characters. I can see this being good for drive thru fodder, but not much else.

First screening September 5, 2022 on Tubi.
